States for Service Coalition 2026 Call to Action!

The States for Service Coalition 2026 call to action was received and answered by SAVMA. The policy arm of America’s Service Commissions, is organizing an organizational sign-on letter to ask Congress to appropriate $30 million for the Volunteer Generation Fund (VGF) in FY26. This is the fourth sign-on letter organized for VGF since it was created in 2009 as part of the Serve America Act. VGF is the only federal-level volunteer engagement funding, and it has a tremendous opportunity to expand to support volunteer infrastructure throughout the country.

We are asking your organization to sign-on to the letter (read the text of the letter) and to share this opportunity with your networks. Our hope is that increasing funding to $30 million will enable every state service commission to access VGF to support volunteer engagement in their state/territory and to have a competitive pool of funding for all nonprofits.

Please sign on to the letter by COB on Wednesday, April 23.

Please contact them directly at policy@statecommissions.org with any questions.

Thank you for your continued support of the Volunteer Generation Fund (VGF).
