Community Service Recognition: Nichole Burke
In January, SAVMA celebrated volunteerism at the 2020 SAVMA Awards, a volunteer recognition event for all of Southern Arizona. Organizations were invited to nominate individuals for a Community Service Recognition in honor of their exceptional giving and spirit of service. Throughout the month of April, we will be highlighting these individuals and their nomination as part of VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION MONTH!
Nichole Burke: Troop 210 Leader, Area Team Manager Southwest Area
“Thank you for your commitment to building girls of courage, confidence, and character!
At Girl Scouts, our mission is driven by the dedicated volunteers who put a generous amount of time, effort and love into Girl Scouting in our community. It is our honor and privilege to recognize Nichole Burke for all that she has done, and continues to do, for our organization. It is because of volunteers like Nichole that our movement continues to make an impact on girls across Southern Arizona.
Nichole started Troop 210 and consistently strives to provide more opportunities and experiences for each girl she leads. She constantly encourages girls to ask questions about the world around them and to learn something new every day! She nurtures each girl as if they were her own child— providing a safe environment for the entire troop to take healthy risks.
Nichole’s attention to detail and organization skills not only ensure that girls are meeting weekly and getting the most of their Girl Scout experience, but gives parents and caregivers the opportunity to be as up-to-date and involved as possible.
Along with fearlessly leading her troop, Nichole provides support to other volunteers as an Area Team manager and lends a hand at large council-run events. She is always willing and eager to help if she is able! Nichole embodies what an outstanding leader is and should be, and gives the girls in her troop and community an incredible role model to look up to! Nichole undoubtedly deserves this nomination for community service to others.“
