Celebrate IVMDay with SAVMA! 💙 Be Bold. Make Change.Celebrate IVMDay with SAVMA! 💙 Be Bold. Make Change on November 5, 2025. International Volunteer Managers Day (IVMDay)  — is a global celebration of the professionals who power volunteerism through strategy, heart, and leadership.

This year’s theme, “Be Bold. Make Change.”, perfectly captures the courage, creativity, and innovation that volunteer engagement professionals (VEPs) demonstrate across Southern Arizona every single day.

At SAVMA, we know that bold leadership isn’t about perfection — it’s about action. From launching new programs to reimagining how volunteers connect and feel valued, our members continuously show that change begins with courage.

Share Your Story — Inspire Our Community 💙

Tell us about the bold moves you’ve made this year in your volunteer engagement work. You only need to answer one (or more) of these quick prompts:

  • What’s one bold decision you made in your volunteer program this year?

  • How have you changed how volunteers engage or feel valued?

  • What’s one time you took a risk in your role that paid off?

  • What’s something new you tried that made a difference for your volunteers?

  • How did you step outside your comfort zone to lead or advocate for volunteers?

  • What change have you made that you hope inspires others?

  • How have you helped your organization see volunteers in a new light?

💡 Example:

“I created a peer mentor program for new volunteers — bold, but worth it!”

👉 Share your story by October 30th: Submit your response here.

We’ll feature your stories and quotes across SAVMA’s social media, website, and blog during IVMDay week — shining a light on the local leaders who make Southern Arizona stronger.

Why Bold Change Matters Now

Across the U.S., volunteerism is rebounding. According to AmeriCorps’ 2023 Civic Engagement Report, more than 75 million Americans volunteered last year — contributing nearly 5 billion hours of service valued at over $167 billion.

Arizona’s volunteer rate exceeds the national average, yet nonprofits continue to face rising service demands and resource shortages. That’s where volunteer engagement professionals step in — bridging people, purpose, and possibility.

By connecting, aligning, and empowering volunteers, VEPs ensure that every act of service counts — transforming compassion into measurable community impact.

Let’s Celebrate Together

This International Volunteer Managers Day, we invite you to take a moment to recognize yourself and your peers.

Every training session, risk taken, and process improved represents a bold change that advances our collective mission:

Empowering Volunteer Engagement Professionals for the future of volunteer management.

So, be bold. Share your story. And keep leading the change that strengthens our communities.
